When I was young and able to compose and produce a song in 24 hours, I liked to do it that way, today I would prefer to sleep and to work days or weeks on a song. If I ever will do a complete song again ;), but I guess I'm on the way now. A song can be perfect, but we might be not able to listen the 64th time to it and we tend to destroy a good mix. It's possible to save different mixes and to rest 1 day or 3 days and then to chose on of the mixes or to fine tune one of the mixes. If someone else will do it for you, or help you, this has the advantage you mentioned, but it has the disadvantage, that because you're still unsteady, someone will do it in a way, you won't like any more some days later. If you have the possibility to try a mastering studio, you should make this experience. I don't know the link and I don't have the time to google now, but there is a Dub forum or a Dub musician in Switzerland ... he also programmed VSTs ... I'll try to google one time now ... it might be this page, I'm not sure ... http://www.interruptor.ch/ ... 1. I'm not sure if it's the site I know, but I think so, because of the colours. 2. You won't have a Dub bass, but if it's the site I know, there are some useful tips how to have deep bass without overstraining HIFI speakers. ... After taking a look at the VSTs I'm (nearly) sure it's the site or there is a link to the site I mean.
