Dear list,

I have installed 64studio 3.0 beta. Everything is fine so far, except
for the monitor resolution: I have two screens (laptop internal,
external TFT on a docking station) and the external screen is flickering
in the lower third of the display. Up to now, I couldn't figure out how
to tell the X-server to set the resolution correctly.

The interesting part is: With 64studio 2.0 live, the display is okay,
also with Ubuntu Jaunty (the other linux installed on the machine), even
though the OSes auto-configure the setup differently. 64studio just
disables the interal screen, while Jaunty mirrors the desktop, using the
external screen's best resolution as reference. 64studio 3.0 also
attempts to mirror the desktop, but seems to use a different method of
configuring the resolution.

I haven't been able to find a solution to this. Neither can I use the
flickering monitor. The 4studio forums don't seem to shed a light on
this particular issue, either. Therefore, I hope somebody on this list
can be of help.

Hardware information:
Laptop: Acer TravelMate 3004 WTMi, 12" screen, 1280x800 px resolution
Docking station: Acer EZdock lite
External Monitor: Yakumo 17" screen, 1280x1024 px resolution (4:3)

I have posted some logfile output to pastebin.
- X.org.0.log, 64studio 2.0 (linux 2.6.21-1-multimedia-486):
  http://www.pastebin.org/3014
- X.org.0.log, Ubuntu 9.04 (linux 2.6.28-13-generic):

- X.org.0.log, 64studio 3.0 beta (linux 2.6.29-1-multimedia-686):
  http://www.pastebin.org/3016
- 'lspci -v' : http://www.pastebin.org/3017

One last note: I don't really need a split screen setup, so if someone
can tell me how to deactivate the internal monitor when the laptop is
attached to the docking station, that's perfectly enough.

Best regards,
Lutz
