Hi List,

I upgrade from Lenny 5.01 with the 64Studio repositories, and it's nice !

Just a problem in Ardour, at this point of the first song with this system
(mix step) : Ardour says that the HD is not speed enough in reading, and the
visual doesn't follow the sound (when able to play)

There is 30 tracks and 8 bus in reading, only Jack and Ardour are running,
26 plugins are used, most of them are C* Tube preampIV+tone and TAP Tube
warmth. The others are : Dyson comp, TAP reverberator, C* Eq 10 bands.
2 instances of C* plate2X2 and 1 of C* JVRev-stanford reverbs are on bus,
feeded with tracks pre or post send.

I give this list, just in case somebody says "Never use this plugin, it's known
for bugging", but problem here could be : only 1Gb memory...

Maybe there's something that can be done (stopping services, force swap, change Jack settings ? Frankly don't know, and after unsuccessfull browsing, here I am ;-))

Here's top verbose :

In /etc/secutity/limits.conf there is :

@audio - memlock unlimited
@audio - nice -10

And user is in audio group

RTkernell is 2.6.21-1-multimedia-486

Jack says :

Then audio starts, but visual is not following. When try "Alt+M" :

If you have any idea, many thanks in advance, I like to mix it
without many trackings before !

Greets,
