I've got 2 mixing consoles, not DJ consoles and I've got HIFI equipment
with a spectrum analyser. The HIFI spectrum analyser is completely
useless, the meters of the 2 mixing consoles are useful, but they aren't
good calibrated. Very expensive, professional mixing consoles have also
meters, that can be use to avoid clipping, but in addition professional
studios are using expensive meter bridges. It's not so easy to "see" the
average level and the way the headroom is used. Trained "ears" (brains)
and comparisons with good mastered audio recordings IMHO are a better
ways to "hear" what is hard to see by most meters.

Cheers,
Ralf
