Hallo, installation failed because an error occurred.
The system is an ASUS M2A-VM HDMI with HDMI disabled. The graphics is an integrated ATI Radeon "X 1250-based". I'm running 64 Studio 3.0-beta3, http://www.64studio.com/, with latest packages upgrades. 64 Studio is Ubuntu Hardy and the beta version is stable on my machine, excepted of MIDI jitter for external MIDI devices. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ r...@64studio:/usr/src/ati# sh ati-driver-installer-9-3-x86.x86_64.run --buildpkg Ubuntu/hardy Created directory fglrx-install.X29528 Verifying archive integrity... This seems to be a bug, I found this thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1225967 And this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/320986 Because of my broken English I also read this thread on German: http://forum.ubuntuusers.de/topic/aktuelles-zur-fglrx-problematik-bei-intrepid-/4/ There are much more links about this issue: http://www.google.de/search?hl=de&q=dkms+build+fglrx&meta=&aq=3&oq=dkms+build For the standard, non-real-time Ubuntu kernel there's a pre-build package for "xorg-driver-fglrx" in the repositories. At least it would be good if there would be a howto on easy to understand English, to solves the problem. Bug reports, that might have a solution, but embedded in a discussion, aren't a help for many people that do not understand English very well. Hopefully ATI is interested in supporting customers that run Linux. If not it would be wise to buy other graphics or mobos with other on-board graphics, but ATI in the future. I'll send a copy of this mail to AMD's German Graphics Technical Support by email web form. Feel free to contact me on English or on German!
