Hi Gustin :)

after reinstalling the package "64studio" it still causes this error
(it's from the original mail):

The Gnome panel then is fine, but e.g. the repository list needs to be
restored again.

Yes, I added repositories by using synaptic to /etc/apt/sources, I
changed the GDM theme by a GUI that changed the entries for
/etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom, but /etc/modeprobe.d/hda-intel wasn't edited
by me, must be done by some automation of 64 Studio.

I only restored those files ;), I didn't restore the whole system and
the error is caused because I needed to remove a broken, new version of
QjackCtl, that's why the package 64studio was removed by synaptic too.
After reinstalling the good QjackCtl and the package 64studio from the
repository, the package 64studio causes trouble.

Quasi OT: I reboot into Suse 11.1, change into the directory where 64
Studio 3.0-beta3 is and run

# tar czf /media/INTENSO/name_of_the_backup.tar.gz * .rnd

This was a very stable and clean system before I tried to install Nui's
QjackCtl package for Hardy, then after removing this broken QjackCtl and
as a dependency 64studio was removed automatically and reinstalling
64studio the package seems to run a script all the time I install any
package.

I guess there is a script that always tries to do this:

File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/augeas.py", line 266, in save
raise IOError, "Unable to save to file!"
IOError: Unable to save to file!

Once this would be done, I could restore the mentioned files and
anything would be fine again.

spinymouse-s...@64studio:~$ ls -Al /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages |
grep augeas.py
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11122 2008-09-06 11:45 augeas.py
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 10356 2009-04-21 15:36 augeas.pyc

Root has got read and write access. Why can't the file be saved?

Cheers,
Ralf
