Definitely. I can set up a simple majordomo based list at 909linux.org or at one of the many domains I own, if that's the last resort. > The domain will have to be renewed by 4/28 I know that's more of a > 'formal' thing, I'd say keep the domain name. I'm willing to pay for it if it's transferred to my domain registration service. Notice I did _NOT_ say transfer it into my name. That's _not_ what I'm suggesting. I'm only suggesting let me put it into my domain registration system so I can easily pay for it at my price point. But something tells me this isn't really about a few bucks a year. > so if we don't want it, and just want to do personal e-mail, or a > yahoo groups thing, then i'll let the domain lapse. The problem with letting it lapse is it makes it less likely new members would ever find it. In fact if David hadn't added me to the list (I think it was you; correct me if I'm wrong) I wouldn't know the group existd. > I like having > some kind of e-mail system since I'm basically never at LLU anymore, > so I never hear when people are going to get together unless someone > e-mails me. As do lots of others of us. And sometimes we stay on lists for the comraderie though we don't attend meetings. For example, I'm on the University of Florida Linux Group list though I've never been to a meeting (I graduated long before Linus even existed <smile>). And I belong to NILUG (Northern Idaho Linux Users Group) even though I never get to any of the meetings there (they're on the same day as the Lugie meetings). And I'm here though there's been only one meeting (which I could not attend because of a prior commitment) since I joined. My .02, anyway. Jeff -- Jeff Lasman, nobaloney.net, P. O.
