I had a weird T1-related problem today. While unplugging one router and
plugging in another router into a Tasman T1 DSU from Quest, I
inadvertently unplugged the power to the Tasman. I couldn't get on the
Internet with the other router, so I plugged back in the original
router. Oddly, I couldn't get back on the Internet.
I waited a couple of minutes for it to boot completely, then I "ping
-t"ed both /30 addresses on the serial link. For a long time (like 5
minutes) I was not able to ping either IP. I logged in the Tasman, saw
the T1 as "down" and got a little worried. I called Brian Friday, and
while talking to him (this is now 10+ minutes later), the WAN connection
came "up", I was able to ping it intermitently. Brian suggested I unplug
the T1 cable from the WAN int on the Tasman for a few seconds. I did
that, and like a minute later, it all started pinging consistently.
Anyone know what's going on here?
