This one guy who is doing Linux work for us is (if I understand my boss right) charging 6 hours to configure (what I understand to be) Samba for a Red Hat server.
My boss asked me how long it should take to set up the server to be able to be seen from a neighboring Window box (so the tape backup could catch the backup), and I told him as long as it took to properly set up some file sharing system like Samba. He said that someone quoted him 6 hours, and I said perhaps, as I didn't know how it was set up originally. Just wondering what you guys thought about this. Roger
