An associate of mine just got a MacBook and is hoping to use it to grab some movies off his plasma TV. Apparent there is some sort of way to do this with iLink simulating a S-VHS recorder.
OK, I'm in a bad mood today, so I apologize in advance, but recording something off a plasma TV requires a camcorder, and very bad quality :P
How would you "simulate" an S-VHS recorder? Maybe draw a pretty picture of one and then make whirring noises.... profit! OK, I'm done nitpicking and will give you what I know now :P
Anyone have experience with this?
Some S-VHS VCR's have firewire inputs (iLink). Using iMovie or something similar one could connect to the VCR and remote control/ import the S-VHS video. If their VCR has a firewire port, its actually rather simple. Just plug the two together, open iMovie and import... YMMV :)
