Is it really that hard to set it up the "old fashioned way?" I've only done it a couple of times, and that was at least 2 years ago, but I don't remember it being *that* difficult or time-consuming. However, I have a terrible memory and YMMV.
Simply put, no it's not -- install everything manually and a few tweaks here and there to get it going. The "problem" is that this is only a temporary solution until I move everything to LAMP. I have to have Windows b/c of the PHP code's (ahem) dependence on MS SQL. That will soon change to MySQL, and then we'll port that over to some sort of Linux (probably CentOS, since we have a few other boxes like that in our network).
