Hi - bringing this one back on-list as a topic of potential general
interest to the 909linux list ... (I must have replied offlist cuz
I was in a hurry and wrote cryptically or something) ...
When Jeff posted to the list about acquiring MS-Win-Vista
("for testing sites on IE, and for installing graphics programs
to be compatible with my graphics designers."), I replied
asking if WINE and/or Crossover, plus applications, would do.
MSIE runs under WINE, and IEs4Linux <http://www.tatanka.com.br/>
facilitates installation.
Photoshop, afaik, runs on WINE or at least Crossover, dont remember reading
one way or the other about Illustrator, but these are things that can
be looked up.
Jeff asked whether Outlook Express can be acquired separately from the
MS-Win OS, which I don't know offhand, but again is the kind of thing
that can be looked up.
BTW, OT^2, today at Loma Linda Chamber I met a local graphic designer,
who although he uses the proprietary programs, said he is willing to work
with me if I want some graphics work done and require use of
Open/Free sofware - rwldesign.com .

I'd start at General Technique, a small local computer store at
2124 N. Palm Av Highland - genltech.com .
