Erik kindly offered a recovery procedure, but my impression is that it compounds effort for only a temporary gain; waiting for Bell Labs, on the other hand, has the drawback that custom kernels will not be taken care of automatically. I seem to remember that there was one header change offered (Erik, again?) that would help with this last issue, would that allow safe building of custom kernels without first pulling? ++L
