It seems likely that anyone subscribed to this list is capable of making an informed decision about which text editor they prefer to use.
That said, acme makes a certain style of interaction easier at the cost of stepping all over the rest of the (Plan 9) system. Some people just don't like the subtly incompatible duplication of functionality. On a UNIX system, acme provides facilities that are otherwise clumsy to work with or flat out unavailable. sl
