I am, new computers are not nice to use. I don't want to make 9front like a modern linux/mac/windows/whatever box. > Indeed, we're no longer in the 90ies, we moved from mouse to touch input, and > back then having no insight into today's user behavior and not yet having > seen newer design patterns is why it's time to tackle the figurative fence. > That's only part of what I'm saying though. If you want to comment and make suggestions about the design of the system at large, it should begin by studying the existing discourse and design philosophy of those who worked on it before you. Part of the reason why Plan 9 is nice now compared to other systems is that they didn't just jump on the "hip new thing", things were carefully considered. This mentality of "new is better" is a shortcut for critical thinking of the issues and problems at hand. ------------------------------------------ 9fans: 9fans Permalink: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/Tf84d656c78bbda91-Mdf86e652e0cbe60c1b4089ff Delivery options: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/subscription
