If there is a "user interface" for Plan 9, it is the namespace. Anything after that is just decoration. All rio does is provide a blue-green border and an rc shell to a namespace. Lets me move it around the screen with other namespaces. And everything speaking 9P means nothing is tied to being centric to anything. I routinely have windows open in rio that incorporate stuff from devices connected to raspberry pis, or wifi routers, or remote file systems. I also have a soft spot for the BeOS/Haiku interface. A small tab on the windows and a button with a clock in the corner is about all I would really want. But I certainly don't want something that limits me to a single user and the resources of a single computer. ------------------------------------------ 9fans: 9fans Permalink: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/Tf84d656c78bbda91-M1e31ccbbe0199bf82693f26d Delivery options: https://9fans.topicbox.com/groups/9fans/subscription
