There's a discord server for 9fans which could be used to connect, then we could move the interested people to a private group. Other than that, I can offer deltachat (anonymous, free, easy to set up) and other more common messengers (whatsapp, Signal, telegram; most of which need to disclose the phone number). I understand that people might not want to join the discord server for reasons, or set up yet another messenger account just for one event. I know there's also matrix and irc.
