syslog man implies that the file has to be there.

doesn't fossil pay attention to DMTMP bit?



Well, part of the problem was that I had /sys/log/smtpd set mode 664
instead of 666. I changed that, and now I'm seeing the following in my
log file:
csplan9 Jun 20 14:41:51 helo from 130.203.4.6 as mail.cse.psu.edu
csplan9 Jun 20 14:41:51 [mail.cse.psu.edu/130.203.4.6]
cse.psu.edu!9fans-bounces+john=csplan9.rit.edu -> csplan9.rit.edu!john
sendercheck: error

Shed any light on the matter?
