Shell extensions include programs like "WindowBlinds", "ObjectDesktop", and some display management software that add or extends the shell by hooking DLL libraries to the interface extensions or, by replacing or modifying shell scripts, templates or themes used by the "Desktop Themes" service or 'Luna'. (...like "Style-XP", a window skinning program)
