Well, there are three good ways of doing this. 

1. You can take the old hard drive out, slave it to the new hard drive 
on the new computer and transfer all your files that way. Make sure your 
jumpers are set properly are this won't work.
2. You can network the two comptuers together by purchasing a "crossover 
cable" and and network interface card or NIC,  then enabling file 
sharing between the two computers.  Then you can share any or all the 
info you want between them.
 3. Invest in an external usb hard drive and use it for backing up or 
transferring files via the usb cable.
