I think Blake came up with the best solution, probably the new video card 
requiring correct drivers
for w98.  The person with the problem, Tae, posted 7 TIMES before he finally 
told us:

New- Motherboard, Ram, Video Card & Power Supply

I don't know why people do not supply important information like that at the 
outset, it would save a
lot of time and head-scratching!

I missed the start of this thread.  Sounds like a
corrupted driver.  Forgot the process, but I would
start with Device Manager.
