Hi Guys,
RAW is an image format put out by high end digital cameras.
It is by itself not windows compatible. It was created by the
camera and these cameras come with windows software to
handle it. He should have saved it in jpeg format. The computers that opened
it must have some camera software already on them. Raw is
used because the pros can do more with it later. In Raw, they can alter
things like white balance and chroma at a later time.

Either what? You tried it on 2000. Either implies two, which two? Two files
or what?
When you taled about Raw before, were you talking about the formatting or
the file extension?

I would certainly agree if the floppy was formatted with some alien file
system. Where did the pics of your grandaughter come from. Where they
scanned photos or camera images or what? Maybe you need to state what your
goal is. To see the pictures of your grandaughter? Or to get the files from
the floppy. I'd say that the simplest solution is to contact your daughter,
explain that you can't view the pics. Tell her that she will have to send
you images that can be read on a PC. At least that's what I would do.
Jim
