I've used Firefox on a dun connection as well with no problems.  Yes, a 
server problem with his isp would be cause for alarm but it seems to 
me,  if that were the case, he would have more problems with it than not 
being able to access ebay, it would be internet wide.  I am using "high 
speed" satellite internet from Direcway.
