>I used a word processing program called Eight-In-One.

Right, suite of programs, WP, I think also a spread sheet and/or dbase, etc.

I started with a dmp for my CBM Vic20. It was Commodore only.

My first Dos was what I got with the Luggable Sanyo, there I remembered the
brand.
That was used for $500/

> My first Windows computer was Windows 3.0, then 3.1 etc

I had smething I bought used that was something called Window 286 or
something.
I think I had Win 3.0 and 3.1, the WFWG 1.1, 95, 98 and SE, ME and now XP,
several copies.

> Another point i would like to make is that I'll bet I am older than you.

Could be but since it is in doubt I'll tell you that I am 68.

had only 8

Early on I would give a computer to one of my kids when I wanted to buy
another. When they all had computers I started to keep them. When I got
broadband I then bought a router to share it with all the computers which
had the additional benefit of networking them as well.

Sometimes that happens. I never heard of Goldmine. Was that a graphics or
draw program, if I recall you were responding to the MAV vs PC for graphics.
