Yes sometimes files used by the program are also used by other programs so best
to leave them
intact, but the uninstall process gives you the option of retaining such files
rather than deleting
them. These files do not take up much space on the modern enormous hard
drives. You could always
run a reputable registry cleaner at a later date to do some additional tidying
up if you so wish.
Before doing so back up your registry and if you have system restore, set a
suitable restore date.

Well I imagine it might to a bear, now could it have been "Brock"? On a more
serious note I have
thought that uninstalling a program is never straightforward when one is
informed there are still
entries that couldnt be uninstalled because other programs are using them.......
