I think this is a weakness in Windows Updates, there is only a brief description of them that convinces most people that they need the patch, or whatever. There is always a "More details" link that takes you to a full explanation of what the patch is for and where one can decide or not to install, with advice as to whether or not it can be uninstalled. There is also a check box to prevent Windows Updates reminding about those one has decided not to install. I just wonder how those who have WU install automatically get along and if they have problems when they have installed something they cannot uninstall.
