Unless a drive is jumpered for 'cable select' the position on the cable
where the drive is connected does not matter. And I think that you need a
special cable for cable select to even work. I haven't used cable select in
quite some time.
In addition, if you have only one drive on the ribbon cable the jumpers may
not even matter, depends on either the drive or the drive interface, I'm not
sure.
