Possible Causes

1) Damaged Store 'Deleted Items' file
2) MSN Messenger interoperability problem
3) Antivirus plugin fault
4) Damaged IE installation
5) Damaged OE plugin

Troubleshooting:
1) Delete the Deleted Items store file from
C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Identities\{123...}\Microsoft\Outlook
Express\Deleted Items.dbx
2) Disable Messenger Integration from: Tools > Options > uncheck [ ]
Sign me into MSN Messenger (or similar text).
3) Disable your Antivirus e-mail plugin.
4) Reinstall Internet Explorer.  Go to
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie and obtain IE6SETUP.EXE and run
it, choose custom, and recheck all items in bold.
5) Remove all OE plugins such as SmileyCentral and HotBar by
uninstalling them.
