Whilst on the subject of e-mail. My server has webmail which is spam and virus
protected. It allows 5 e-mail addresses and one can configure Outlook Express
to send and receive POP3 of any mails generated to and from those addresses.
It also has a feature whereby one can pick up external mail, but, now here's
the rub, external mail cannot be picked up by Outlook Express. I have a POP3
address that is included with my domain agreement and I dont particularly want
to lose that, even though it has become spam attracted.
My former server that has webmail allowed me to configure Outlook Express to
happily pick up the domain mail.
Is there anyway to by-pass my server's webmail to receive it into Outlook
Express, say by IMAP, would that work and if so what's the deal about IMAP
folders that need refreshing in Outlook Express? As you will realise I don't
know much about IMAP other than it is mainly for picking up mails from
different sources. I set up an IMAP account for my domain mail but after a
while the folders needed "refreshing" and apparently I hadn't done that.
