My laptop decided to quit working. It was on when I went in the other
room for supper and when I came back it was blank. It will not power
on with either the ac adapter or the battery. No lights whatsoever
come on. Personally, I think it is the internal power supply unit.
The symptoms are the same as a desktop that I had at one time. I would
think that if it is the power unit that the battery would not work
since it plugs into that unit. My question is, could there be anything
else that would cause these symptons such as if the CPU or motherboard
blew. I would think with problems with the mother board you would at
least get it to power on with errors and some lights would come on.
Any possible causes would be appreciated. I am trying to determine
whether it is worth trying to fix or just try to sell it piece by piece
on ebay. I have only had it a few months, but, it was used.

                                                 John
