Hi Matt

Sorry I got your name wrong in the last mail :( You are asking a lot of
questions but not answering
many so all we can do is make the same suggestions eg

Jim and I both asked if you knew the names of the files?
Have you searched for them using Explorer?
Have you still got the email that had the photos attached?
Have you looked in the Recycle Bin?
Have you looked in the email Client Deleted Items folder?
Can the person who sent the photos send them to you again?

>>I have Windows 98.

Try looking in:

C:\My Documents\My Pictures

>>Also does the printer temp folder or spool not keep them

To the best of my knowledge, the printers I have used all empty the print
buffer when they are
turned off and information is only usually stored in the buffer until the print
job has been
completed

>>or is there not some back up copy

It is your responsibility to back up files AND remember where you stored them
but there are programs
available that will back up automatically if you have such a program installed.
 If you haven't such
a program installed you can try looking in:

C:\Windows\Temporary Internet Files
C:\Windows\Temp folders

If they aren't in these locations you can search for the file name on the whole
of drive C:\ if you
don't know the file name you will have to use the wild card search for *.jpg

>>What about Windows paint program

What about it?

>>And what about MS-Dos

Using Explorer to search is much better than MSdos

>>is there anything I can do?

Try all the above, tell us what you have done and the results. There is a
program called Picasa
that lists ALL the image files on your computer:

http://picasa.google.com/index.html

You could try d/l and installing it to see if it can find the photos
