OK, don't expect the graph to show all files together in one block. A defragmenter will optimize the file orientation. It doesn't matter that there are several file blocks. What matter is that there is not a whole lot of really small blocks. In fact sometimes a defragmentor will ask for which kind of defragmenting you want. The best type my not put all files in a large block but that will allow loading of a file as fast as possible. If all the file cannot be loaded in one swipe of the head it might have to do it in several swipes. The defrag program may move the chunks in ways that don't look contiguous but are optimized for faster loading. Jim ------------------------ Yahoo!
