A discrepency between used space and free space can be explained by the issue of 'slack space'. Hi: But why when you delete everything off the drive or partition do you still end up with one GIG of nothing? And, why is it that after you reformat the drive and then restore everything back to it that was on it before do you end up with one gig less? Still not clear to me.
