Hi:
I was not speaking of the Recovery consule provided from
the Windows XP CD from  which  I have no experience, never
having worked with it.
 
I was speaking of an Emergency Boot CD made with the files
necessary to place the computer at the same command prompt
that is available in System32\cmd.exe  and the Accessories  folder
where it is described  as "Windows  Command Processor" .
 
It has been a while since I used DOS so i would not be able to
compare the functions at this time.  You can find all the  available
commands by typing help at the prompt.  I recorded a CD of
My pictures using the "copy" command and it sure works like
DOS to me.
