But, you should know, that if you reformat your hard drive everything will be gone. There is no way to recover even if you had diskettes or a Boot Disk. If you expect them to save you another time, they won't. I don't know if many people use ASR as there are easier ways. If you were having a problem with your operating system there were a couple of ways to recover without needing to reformat. One way was to boot up in safe mode with "Command Prompt" and go into the Restore folder for a restore point that was ahead of the date of your problem. The other way was to re-install XP from the application CD in the repair mode which does not reformat the drive. If you had created a Data partition to save all your data to, Reformatting the OS partition would not have hurt your data.
