I don't think it's USB. But all looks well in Device Mgr. Looking at the mouse drivers in DM there are four entries. three ending in .VXD and one .DRV. Is that normal? Hi: There is a possibility that you have Mouse driver problems. The reason I say that is, you may using two sets of drivers. One supplied by Microsoft when you are in safe mode and OEM drivers when in full mode. In safe mode windows eliminates all the un-necessary drivers, hence defaulting to Microsoft drivers. The way to find out is to boot in safe mode and go to device manager then mouse then drivers to check who supplies the drivers. After that go to full mode and do the same. If you then see OEM mouse drivers showing it might prove that the OEM drivers are corrupt. Device manager will tell you who supplies the drivers. The best way to deal with driver problems is to un-install them and then re-boot. Windows will reboot and will automatically install Microsoft mouse drivers. Then you can re-install the OEM drivers which will then override the Microsoft drivers. If the PC works ok on the reboot with Microsoft drivers but continues to fail with OEM drivers you can go online and download new drivers. On my new PC I am running XP home supplied by the OEM and I installed XP Pro aftermarket version. In the OEM version it defaults to OEM drivers and the aftermarket version defaults to Microsoft drivers. I still have not installed the OEM version in the aftermarket XP to add the "bells and whistles. Hope this helps Emile [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Sponsor --------------------~--> Get Bzzzy! (real tools to help you find a job).
