I tried a reboot and a Blue Screen came up telling me Windows was missing hal.dll..I tried to replace it from the XP Pro CD but to no avail the C:..hard drive just thrashes and grates so I turned it off..maybe causing more damage..I just hope there is a way to salvage all my registered programs..How do you do an "In Place re-installation"?..--Phyllis
