Tonight I tried to install my wireless network and have a MAJOR problem with
the notebook. The installation on my XP desktop of the router went without a
hitch. Then I went to install the notebook. I got a Linksys cardbus adaptor
for the notebook and the instructions said to install the software first. I
put the CD in and everything went fine, it was installing the files, then
suddenly the screen went whitish grey--I've never seen this before. It stayed
that way for a LONG time, and finally I tried rebooting, but the screen came up
the same whitish grey. It seems to be loading Windows (98SE), but I can't see
anything on the screen. I tried starting in safe mode and the same thing
happened. I'm too tired to call tech support tonight, will do it tomorrow, but
if any of you have any ideas I can try, I'd be grateful. I think I've gotten
everything off that computer that I need, but I really hadn't planned on doing
an OS install, and then I'm afraid I'll run into the same damn problem all over
again!
