Yep.  That was the key!  Thanks.  I did a revert with "Roxio 
GoBack".  Before I had a "selective star-up" but with "load start-up 
group items" selected.  Been that way for years; with no problems.  I 
have now delected that, so only explorer, starter and runapp loading 
on start-up.  I'll now carefully go through the handful of items I 
want auto loaded on start-up (such as "spywareblaster")to determine 
which has caused the problem (maybe the new version of spyware 
blaster that I DL'd).  This will lead to new questions/thread about 
start-up items, which has always confused me a bit.
