Hi,

That warning "If you do this,….. will lose all personal certificates
and stored passwords for web sites and network resources" is a touch
over-stated to the home user.

Your website passwords are stored on THEIR web server for example.
XP is only changing them on YOUR computer as a fast way to remove
this data.

So when the website passwords on your computer are changed, it
simply means that when you go to the website if you used
the "remember me" feature, the website will not remember you or will
fill in a changed password. The website does not recognize you and
so you have to RE-ENTER your old username and old password for them
to know you. Your old username and password are still there at their
site, they just don't know you until you re-enter them.

So unless you have a lot of sites for which you have had XP remember
and fill in your name and password AND YOU NO LONGER REMEMBER them,
then you are okay putting in account passwords. Hopefully, you have
all your usernames and passwords (especially if you have a home
network) written down some place far from your computer anyhow.

Leslie
