It may be a step toward legacy free, but XP is still married to the Intel 
platform. And of course it has to be. What we probably need is a wholesale 
change from the old platform. I can't describe what it would be, but that 
seems to me the only way to move away from insecure computing. We have gone 
through a similar concept in TV broadcasting. Because TVs can or at least 
will work with the old system and newer HD systems we may eventually be able 
to drop the old  low rez standards. We need something like that with 
computers, get rid of the old insecure and adopt something new and less 
vulnerable.
