Hi John:
You can do a "Clean reinstallation" using your original OS installation
disc. The installation will reformat your drive but in doing so will wipe
out everything you previously had on the drive and will reinstall the OS
only.
In any case now that you have purchased a new OS you can use that CD
installation to reinstall and reformat the Drive as often as you wish.
