Hi again:

Many people find it imperative to run two drives on their PC, or at
least two Partitions. You can partition a single drive so that it behaves
as though it was two or even more drives. When you run two drives or
partitions, each work separate one from the other. An operating system
(ie. XP) failure in the "C" drive will not normally affect the stuff that
is
in the other drive or partition so the second media is a very safe place
to store your data (ie. Pictures, Music, Favorites, addresses etc. etc.

The rule I like is never save your Data to the operating system drive and
never save your data to a folder within the program that created it. A
failure
in either can result in loss of data.

Windows makes it easy to move the My document folder and all it's
sub-folders to a different drive or partition. Therein you can create as
many different sub-folders as needed to keep your data sorted. To
move the My document folder to a safe second media you can look
in the "C" drive and click on Documents and settings, then click your
user account, usually identified as "Owner" or "Administrator", and
then highlight the My document folder, then click Edit, then click Move.
At that point you will see the move window that you can browse to
locate your second drive, "E" in your case. Then click on "E" and then
click move. You can move My favorites the same way. If there are
already folders with similar names on the "E" drive they will be
integrated.

We have in recent post discussed with people who are trying to get rid
of a second drive and we have discussed with some people trying to
set up a different drive. I hope people who have a second media will
be encouraged by this post to make good use of it. Bye

Emile
