How Quaint - you simply go to the Crucial Website and let it scan your computer. The scan will identify your motherboard and give you detailed information on all the compatible memory strip options available, which they guarantee will be compatible if you purchase from them. You don't need to purchase from them, but you can use this information if you purchase from another source. Crucial's website even shows you how to instal the memory. http://www.crucial.com/ Learn from Silk's experience get your memory from a reliable source. Also let crucial identify your Motherboard. Word of advice for Silk smart users know what hardware and software they are using, perhaps you should run Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html If I moderated/owned a group I would require posters to provide information pertinant to their enquiry (e.g. computer make and model, OS etc.) and not be like the guy that was going to drill through the rivets in his tower because he couldn't find any screws. He should have told me it was a Dell Tower, difficult things to advise on how to open Dell computers if you don't know its that, and the models don't all open the same way. Oh that reminds me of the so called professional that thought it was infra dig to ask questions to supplement information provided in messages sent to yahoo groups. If something as simple as a computer case can cause difficulty, it makes you appreciate nothing is idiot proof. Even if it was those damn idiots keep dumbing down LOL Sorry about this Ranty bit.
