Silk: here: Thanks for the info. I did a google search
for this "Dell Optiplex gx1" & like I said many things
were there but nothing of any help about the RAM
Sticks.. (makes ya wonder? Or does it) Allow me to say
one thing about "Idiot Proof". Some people are
"mr. Gadget, Tinkerers, (most are not nor do they wish
to be) IMO they are born that way, I since a small kid
have run into them, they are just born knowing things
about "gadgets" (no formal training, they just know,
like in instinct, like tv tepair guys no big deal)) I
am not of that persuasion nor do I wish to be.. It is
like a car I am not intersted in pistons, the
carburator, the timing order the transmission ect I
simply want it to get me from point A to point B. Same
philosophy as concerns the computer.
You don't have to be mr gadget, you can learn but the
designers are themself not idiot proof I'm not a
computer engineer but I am 101% positive they could &
will be made much more easier user friendly in the
near future like your tv, it is not constantly
requiring some fix as does the computer & why because
the computer is a young thing & still has many
wrinkles to be ironed out so don't feel so put out
because you can't figure it out. It IMO doesn't really
take what I would call " Real Intelligence" to fix
these things you just have to know the tricks.. If
Einstein came across a combination lock with water in
it & he didn't know the combination (a small trick)
he'd [unless lucky] die of thirst! and none dare call
it treason & thanx for these helpful lists.
I've learned a lot from them & when you have a problem
& get the information You say to yourself "Is that all
it was" but without that small nudge you'd be hell
bent to find the solution.. blame the computer
designers! Chao/Silk
