Jim, 
 
Do you have "My Computer" on your desktop?  If so right clicking on it
should give you an option to "explore".  
 
On my Start Menu I have created a shortcut to Windows Explorer 
the properties for the Windows Explorer shortcut, Target -->>
%SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /n, /e, C:\

Well, there IS supposed to be a version of My Computer called Explorer, as 
opposed to Internet Explorer, but I have not used it in that form is so long

that I could not find it. :-)
