Subject: [A-1-Computer_Tech]Rupert & Sanjay re getting files back to correct
format
Hi guys. Thanks for taking the time to help out, verymuch
appreciated. The tools section on Works 8 doesn't allow for any
default alterations...just time, date, launguage, etc.
When saving text written in wps mode I can select a doc. section in
the drop down menu and convert to doc...but cannot commence the text
in doc., only wps (which very few people can read if I send text in
that format.)
My problem was that the text saved as doc. from wps and placed on
desktop had somehow converted itself to word pad. Not so good as I
could not then enter page numbers, etc (although I could correct
text). And of course I didn't know how to convert back to doc.
The answer came when finally I right clicked the item on desktop and
then clicked on word processor in the drop down menu. That saved
the document on desktop as wps - the original. I then gave the word
pad one the flick and now have my text back in correct format.
So, again, thanks for the time you took to help out. maybe I'll go
and buy some upgraded Word program abd avoid all of the confusion.
Cheers,
Jock
