windows won't start in wifes P2 IBM Thinkpad, XP operating system

She was trying to email some large jpg files when she got a shortage
of disk space message, which she had been getting the shortage of
disk space message.

The computer froze up so she pulled the power cable.

Now the computer seems to loop whether we choose the options shown
after we get "We are sorry for the inconvenience" message when we try
to restart.

I have chosen the options:
 normal restart,
go to a previous good configuration,
safe mode,
safe mode with command prompt.

I don't know what to do at this point.

Any ideas, should I disconnect the battery and hope for a more primal
reset of old girl? I am referring to the laptop, not my wife!
