ok chirstopher, i finished the scan and yes it was a drive c scan. it
took forever and then i did what u said and still nothing so i am
assuming its time to get a new modem . good thing they don't cost
much so i can do it myself . but i do want to thank all for your
advice i did learn something . i now know i had bad clusters lol
and what drive it was.oh and i have windows98

p.s. if i have a problem putting in this new modem i will be back lol
