This link is to the external hard drive case I was talking about. I assumed, since it's offered as a package deal with an internal hard drive, and that usually external hard drives come in their own built- in case (right?), that this little baby is supposed to be used with an external drive. (or 'house' and external drive as I put it) http://www.newegg.com/Product/CustratingReview.asp? item=N82E16817182034 Hi: I checked the above item and it is described as a CASE ONLY for about $26. Drive cases are sold in multiple models and two sizes. the 3 1/2 is for regular Desktop drives and you can mount any spare drive you have or you can buy drives separately. The 2 1/2 size is for Laptop drives, which are a bit slower, but they are mostly all self- powered. Most are priced between $15 and $40. You can also purchase Cases with a drive starting at about $99. Once you have a Hard Drive case you can use it to read any hard drive including drives from your PC to recover data in case of an operating system failure. One of the best investments one can make.
